Hi Everyone!
The trip to Switzerland was just wonderful!
A huge “Thank You” to all of you who made it possible by supporting The Bobbin Case, inc. The trip was Kent’s first real exposure to Bernina’s way of doing things and he proclaimed Bernina a “Class Act” operation all the way. The tour of the factory simply reinforced my opinion that our Berninas are made with quality from start to finish. (Frankly, after watching the steps which go into making our Bernina feet, they are a real bargain!) Kent was surprised that Bernina does not “out-source” some of the steps which go into making our beloved Berninas. (While the 1008 and the activas are assembled in the Bernina factory in Thailand, the parts are made in Switzerland. We saw crates of 1008 frames ready to be shipped there.)
Bernina offered us several tours and we took advantage of them. One day we went to Jungfraujoch-“The top of Europe”-via cog railroad trains. As we were at a high elevation (over 11,000 ft) we were warned to walk slowly and some had problems with the lack of oxygen. Good thing that we had taken cold weather gear as there was an icy-snow storm taking place up there when we walked out onto the glacier. Unfortunately we could not see very far due to the poor visibility but it was a great experience.
I spent one day in a “sewing seminar”-a day of sewing and embroidering on the new 830e. The American Bernina Educators had arrived in Switzerland the week before and greeted us when we arrived at the factory. Many of them had been traveling back and forth to Switzerland for several years to help in the development of the new 8 Series machines. What fun and what super machines these are! We should be receiving our first 830e by the time you receive this or shortly thereafter. (The dealers who went to Switzerland are getting their floor model 830e’s 6 or more weeks before those who did not go!) Do stop in and let us show you this big-really big-and fast-really fast-machine.
Change in Tuesday’s Embroidery Club time! In an attempt to “lure” more of you into coming to Embroidery Club, we are changing the Tuesday night session to Saturday morning-10:30am-1pm. So if you are tied up during the day and can not make the day time Club meetings on Thursday, you can come to Bernina Club on Thursday night and Embroidery Club on Saturday morning. Remember that even if you purchased your machine from The Bobbin Case, inc. many years ago, you are still a member of our Bernina Club-and still at no cost. And, if you purchased your software from us, you are a member of our Embroidery Club as well. Come to Embroidery Club and learn more about your software, hooping, etc.
Happy Sewing,
